Recommendations for patients wearing removable orthodontic appliances
Removable appliances are often used in children during the period of replacing milk teeth with permanent ones, because they allow for the favorable development of the dental arches and prevent subsequent tooth extractions. You should wear your braces for at least 14 hours a day, brush them regularly and have them professionally hygienized every 6 months.

Recommendations for patients wearing removable orthodontic appliances
Removable braces are most often recommended to children during the period of replacing milk teeth with permanent ones. This is an important and good time to start orthodontic treatment due to the period of growth in children. At this time, we expect favorable development of the facial part of the skull.
Early treatment with a removable appliance allows for the development of the bone base of the dental arches and gaining space for the harmonious arrangement of the teeth. This often prevents later extractions of permanent teeth and the use of fixed braces.
- Removable braces should be worn for a minimum of 14 hours a day, i.e. during sleep time (8 hours) and a minimum of 6 hours during the day.
- Brush your hearing aid daily with a hard-bristled toothbrush and toothpaste or mild soap. At the same time, your own teeth should be brushed with a medium-hard toothbrush.
- Once a week, leave the device for 15 minutes in a solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide in the ratio of 1 tablespoon to half a glass of water.
- Once every 6 months, the device should be professionally hygienized and disinfected in a dental office.
